Do my recordings leave my phone?
No. Your video and audio stay on your device and are excluded from iCloud backups. You can delete any recording from History, or all of them in Settings.

Why isn't the AI Coach available on my iPhone?
On-device AI coaching requires an Apple Intelligence–capable iPhone. The instant on-device read (pace, fillers, structure) works on every supported device.

How do I delete my data?
Swipe to delete a recording in History, use Settings to clear all recordings, or delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

Interview Coach Prep ("the app", "we") helps you practice answering interview questions. We built it to keep your data private. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version

• Your video and audio recordings never leave your device. They are stored only on your iPhone and you can delete them at any time.
• Transcription happens on your device.
• The optional AI Coach works fully on-device on supported iPhones. On other iPhones, only the text transcript of your answer (never the video or audio) is sent securely to our coaching service to generate feedback, and it is not stored afterward.
• We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect and why

Camera and microphone. When you record a practice answer, the app captures video and audio so you can review your delivery. These recordings are saved only in the app's storage on your device and are excluded from iCloud backups. We never upload, transmit, or have access to them.

Speech recognition. The app transcribes your spoken answer to text using Apple's on-device speech recognition to give feedback on pace, filler words, and structure. This happens on your device.

AI coaching (optional, only when you tap "Run AI Coach").

• On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, coaching runs entirely on your device and no data is sent anywhere.
• On other iPhones, the text transcript of your answer is sent over an encrypted connection to our coaching service, which forwards it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce written feedback. We do not send your video or audio. The transcript is used only to generate your feedback for that request and is not retained by us. Our AI provider processes the text under its API terms and does not use it to train its models.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
• We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not store your recordings, transcripts, or feedback on our servers.

Children

Interview Coach Prep is intended for job seekers and is not directed to children under 13.
